He is glad Rin trusts him- he said as much, after all- but the confirmation back, along with "we're friends" after such a long pause (probably Rin debating what to say, as Gau couldn't imagine Rin to be the type to ignore texts due to a lack of caring), sends a guilty twinge throughout his heart.

It's times like these that serve as a bitter reminder that Gau does have something to feel guilty about that he didn't back home.]
