[ Raikou squeezes Gau even tighter. One hand rising up to that flippy hair to palm it absentmindedly. It's a clumsy gesture of comfort and show of worry, or tries to be at least... ]

Shut up, [ he rasps out with harsh voice, throaty and broken from emotion. ] Don't ever apologize. I am the one who should apologize, Gau... I'm... I'm sorry. Words can't... [ Words can't describe how sorry he is and there is just nothing to say that would make it better. He fucked up, again. ]

It's not your fault, Raikou-san!

[Despite the order, Gau keeps talking. Remaining silent was the last thing he would do, time and again, when Raikou's stability was at stake. Quite contrary to shutting up, Gau's words flow out at a mile per minute, with no sign of stopping.]

You couldn't know, [ Raikou says softly. His tears have dried up but his breathing is still a bit elaborate. Gau on the other hand seems shaky and from the way his frame trembles Raikou can tell that he's crying. A reason enough to squeeze him again. ]

It was a man? [ Whoever they are, if Raikou ever finds out, he's going to kill them. No questions asked. ]

[Gau swallows hard because the crushing pressure to his throat comes back, and for a moment it's hard to push those shaky breaths out, but he had to, had to for Raikou's sake.]

[Another sharp breath cuts him off, but underlying his shaking words is an strong current of determination.

[ Raikou isn't privy to Gau's thoughts, never has been, and never will be. He doesn't understand the devotion the boy has for him. Not even now. He could never assume that this was for his benefit. To him, it's just Gau recollecting the hurtful situation that will make Raikou's eyes well up again.

There's anger somewhere there, beneath all this, but for now, he's more focused on Gau, on Gau alive than the person who did this to him. Give him a day and it'll change.

His fingers brush through raven hair, calming and continuous motion that seems to be a half automated. But while he speaks, mouth against Gau's brow, he lays a few gentle kisses on the boy's forehead. ] It's over now. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.

[It was just as much an affirmation to Raikou as it was to himself. Gau worked better when he had a plan, and now that he had sorted his thoughts out enough in Raikou's safety to come to a conclusion, he would work around this Plan. Just having it made his voice grow stronger.

He felt the kisses, reassuring and kind kisses, against his forehead, but he almost brushed them off as he looked up into Raikou's eyes rather than his shoulders, his growing determination clear in his own gaze.]

If I want justice for me, or for the other victims, I must give as much evidence as I can to help bring that man to punishment for his crimes!
